Louis Darvin began his business in 1920 by selling furniture door-to-door using catalog pictures. He became renowned as a furniture expert, offering high-quality furniture and low prices, and his customer base grew. His son David became his business partner, and they opened their first store in Chicago in the early 1940s. In the 1970s, David's sons Steve and Marty joined the family business. After David's passing in 2005, Steve and Marty continued their family's tradition of selling quality furniture at low prices, while providing exceptional service to generations of valued customers.
Darvin Furniture & Mattress is Chicagoland's largest furniture store and a Top-100 furniture retailer in the nation. Darvin also offers its customers free design services when making a purchase. Our team of design specialists can help plan or coordinate furnishing needs with an in-store meeting or an at-home consultation.
*Design consultations require customers to pay $100 in advance of the meeting. When items are purchased from Darvin, the $100 design fee is applied to the final cost, making it a Free service to the customer.

Executive Bios
WILL HARRIS, President
Will Harris is the President of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store. Mr. Harris oversees all the departments of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, including Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales.
As the President, tasked with ushering in the Darvin Furniture & Mattress Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) instituted in 2020, Mr. Harris has made it a constant priority to focus on inspiring every employee, at every level, to create the very best possible Darvin experience for the 100-plus-year-old company.
Mr. Harris took over as the President of Darvin in 2020. He is a fourth-generation family-owned business executive with two decades of experience in the furniture industry. Growing up in a successful family-owned furniture business, he spent years learning about each aspect of the operation and becoming the spokesperson for the company.
Mr. Harris holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Bentley University, Waltham, Massachusetts.
STEVEN J. DARVIN, Chief Executive Officer
Steven J. Darvin is Chief Executive Officer for Darvin Furniture & Mattress, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store. Mr. Darvin's grandfather, Louis, founded the company in 1920 and his father succeeded him, introducing both him and his brother, Marty, to the retail furniture business. After serving in Vietnam with the United States Navy from 1969-1972, Mr. Darvin officially joined the company and has been a co-owner for five decades.
Mr. Darvin's 50 years at Darvin Furniture & Mattress have been filled with exceptional growth and expansion at the single-location showroom in Orland Park, Illinois. As co-owner, he shared responsibility with his brother for oversight of the company's primary operations, with special emphasis on advertising, marketing and upholstery buying.
As co-owners of Darvin, both he and his brother have worked tirelessly to make their customers' and employees' experience a top priority. In 2020 they created an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to allow their workforce to further benefit from the company's future growth.
Before beginning his tenure with Darvin, Mr. Darvin earned a Bachelor of Business degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.
MARTY A. DARVIN, Chairman of the Board
Marty A. Darvin is the Chairman of the Board of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, Chicagoland's largest furniture and mattress store. Mr. Darvin's grandfather, Louis, founded the company in 1920 and his father succeeded him, introducing both him and his brother, Steven, to the retail furniture business. Mr. Darvin officially joined the company in 1969 and has been a co-owner for 50 years.
Mr. Darvin's five decades at Darvin Furniture & Mattress have been marked by the continuous growth of the company. As co-owner with his brother, he shared responsibility for oversight of the company's primary operations, with special emphasis on operations, the distribution center, case good buying, real estate and building expansions.
As co-owners of Darvin, both he and his brother have worked tirelessly to make their customers' and employees' experience a top priority. In 2020 they created an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to allow their workforce to further benefit from the company's future growth.
Before beginning with Darvin Furniture & Mattress, Mr. Darvin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bradley University.
CAROLINA B. DIZON, Chief Financial Officer
Carolina Dizon is the Chief Financial Officer for Darvin Furniture & Mattress and is responsible for the management and oversight of the assets and financial resources of the company. In this role, Ms. Dizon is focused on customer satisfaction and company profitability, which includes promoting business growth and positive brand recognition.
Prior to becoming CFO for Darvin Furniture & Mattress in 2019, Ms. Dizon served as Controller in 1997, Vice President of Finance in 2013, and Executive Vice President of Finance in 2015. Prior to joining Darvin Furniture & Mattress in 1997, she served as the Auditor for Evergreen Plaza Bank; the Vice President & Controller of Southwest Financial Bank (SFBT Mortgage Corp.); and Vice President & Treasurer of Southwest Holdings Corporation.
Ms. Dizon completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration-Accounting and earned her CPA while studying in the Philippines.
HANNY DIAB, Vice President of Merchandising & Business Development
Hanny Diab is the Vice President of Merchandising & Business Development for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. He is responsible for overseeing the Merchandising Department, digital operations at Darvin.com, and opportunities for business growth of the Darvin brand.
Mr. Diab and the departments he manages are focused on growing annual sales revenues and profits. Before becoming Vice President of Merchandising & Business Development for Darvin in 2019, he served as a Buyer for 4 years; Merchandising Manager for 2 years; and Director of Merchandising for 1 year.
A longtime veteran of the Furniture Industry since 1994, Mr. Diab has held previous positions as a Buyer for The Room Place and a Sales & Lease Director of Merchandising & Marketing with Aaron’s. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Finance from DePaul University.
TOM STACHNIAK, Vice President of Distribution Center Operations
Tom Stachniak is the Vice President of Distribution Center Operations for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. All Distribution Center departments report to Mr. Stachniak. In this role, he is responsible for all of the strategic planning involved with day-to-day functions within each Distribution Center department, including annual budget, employee productivity, and maintaining the highest level of customer service/satisfaction.
For more than 40 years, Mr. Stachniak has been involved in the Furniture and Mattress industry. He has been in his current position with Darvin Furniture & Mattress' Distribution Center since 2016.
Mr. Stachniak has previously worked with Ashley Furniture, Home Line Furniture, and World Imports LTD. He holds an Education and Music degree from Elmhurst University.
VICKY GEORGIADIS, Director of Sales
Vicky Georgiadis is the Director of Sales for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. Responsible for customer satisfaction and annual sales growth, Ms. Georgiadis manages a consistently expanding sales team of more than 85. While monitoring the daily showroom customer traffic volume, she provides assistance to staff and customers throughout the Orland Park facility.
A 30-year veteran of the national furniture & mattress industry, she began her career with Darvin as a Sales Manager and became the Lead Sales Manager before taking on her current role as Director of Sales.
Ms. Georgiadis began her career in the furniture & mattress industry at Colby’s Home Furnishings in Oakbrook, Illinois. She was a Sales Manager at Robb & Stucky Interiors in Las Vegas, as well as an Assistant Manager at Lane Home Furnishings in Las Vegas.
Ms. Georgiadis attended the International Academy of Merchandising and Design and Inland Real Estate school.
DEB SCHREMP, Director of Human Resources
Deb Schremp is the Director of Human Resources for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. In her role, Ms. Schremp oversees all Human Resources-related functions, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. With more than 26 years of experience in Human Resources, she administers and oversees all of the employee benefits programs, is responsible for recruiting and retention, compliance, payroll, compensation & benefits, employee relations and policies, the performance review process, and safety.
With more than two decades of experience in the furniture & mattress industry, Ms. Schremp has held positions as Payroll Coordinator at Chicago Metallic Corp., Accounting Coordinator and Human Resources Manager at Acadia Polymers. She holds an A.A.S. in Accounting from Richard J. Daley College; earned a B.S. in Organizational Development at St. Xavier University; SHRM Learning System Generalist Certificate; and a Northern Illinois University H/R Managers Master Series Certificate. She is affiliated with the Society of Human Resources and is a former Vice President of Public Relations at Toastmasters International.
BARBARA HARRINGTON, Marketing Director
Barbara Harrington is the Marketing Director for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. In this role, she serves as Darvin's lead marketing professional and a key advisor to the company's senior management team. Ms. Harrington is responsible for fortifying the company's 100-year-old brand and generating awareness of annual strategic sales promotions throughout the Chicagoland market. She is responsible for generating visitors online and customers in the Orland Park showroom. She oversees an in-house Marketing department.
Prior to joining Darvin in 2016, Ms. Harrington served for more than 20 years as an advertising executive and art director for several media companies based in Chicago. Barb attended The Art Institute of Chicago, the Americans Academy of Art, and Northern Illinois University.
BOB McGIVNEY, Store Manager
Bob McGivney is the Store Manager of Darvin Furniture & Mattress in Orland Park, Illinois. As Store Manager for more than 20 years, Mr. McGivney is responsible for writing and overseeing store policy, handling the daily concerns affecting more than 90 employees, and for managing the full scope of problem-solving required for customers.
As a previous Sales Associate and Sales Manager with Darvin Furniture & Mattress, as well as a Store Manager with The Comfort Shop, Mr. McGivney is a veteran of more than 38 years in the Furniture/Mattress industry. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from DePaul University.
MARGE McGHEE, Senior Customer Service Manager/Billing Specialist
Marge McGhee is the Senior Customer Service Manager and Billing Specialist for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. Ms. McGhee joined Darvin in her management role in 2019. She is responsible for managing five departments and a team of 29 associates who respond to customer correspondences for customer service, billing, and invoices.
Ms. McGhee has more than 33 years of experience in the furniture & mattress industry. Previously, she worked as a manager for Carson Pirie Scott for several decades before joining Darvin. She holds an Associate Degree from Gateway College.
JOSEPH DZIK, Director of Distribution Center / Warehouse Operations
Joseph Dzik is the Director of Distribution Center / Warehouse Operations for Darvin Furniture & Mattress. He is responsible for the expanded DC / Warehouse located in Mokena, Illinois, and managing the employees at the facility. Mr. Dzik oversees the overall quality of merchandise being delivered from the warehouse, in addition to all daily delivery operations.
Before becoming Director of Distribution Center / Warehouse Operations in 2022, Mr. Dzik served as an Inventory Manager and Customer Service Representative. A longtime employee of Darvin, he has been with the company since 2000.
Mr. Dzik has a military background with the United States Air Force that includes being an Intelligence Analyst during the Cold War, Libyan Conflict, and Operation Desert Storm from 1984 through 1993. He has also served as an Air Refueling Operator at O’Hare International Airport as part of the United States Air Force Reserves from 1993 through 1996 and performed as a Dispatcher/Fleet Manager/Senior Projects Manager/and Senior Logistics Manager for JB Hunt Transport from 1994 through 2002.
