DARVIN FURNITURE CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF SMARTSTUFF GALLERY

Darvin Furniture celebrated the grand opening of its Smartstuff Gallery, featuring Smartstuff™ by Universal Furniture, on Saturday, August 23, at 15400 La Grange Road.

Owners Marty and Steve Darvin commemorated the opening on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting. Prior to the opening, there was a training session and graduation of nearly 80 selling associates and designers at the store.

Known as “Chicagoland’s largest furniture and mattress store,” this family-owned business began with door-to-door furniture sales in 1920 and opened its first store in the early 1940s. The new 2,000 sq.-ft. Smartstuff Gallery is located within the 177,000 sq.-ft. store that caters to Chicagoland and the greater northern Illinois area.

Fully accessorized and furnished vignettes help parents visualize decorating ideas and room layouts, while videos focus on Smartstuff’s style, safety and features. An interactive screen will allow parents to navigate the Smartstuff website, which includes photography of every piece in all of the collections. When parents are ready to order, a Darvin Furniture associate can instantly determine the furniture’s availability.

Darvin Furniture showcases five Smartstuff collections. Created for the way kids really live, each collection, whether for boys or girls, is designed starting with safety to meet or exceed government regulations and standards. Innovative Smartstuff smart features found throughout the collections include patented charging stations, removable drawer partitions, secret compartments, built-in lighting, an upper bunk tray and fun teaching elements to expand young minds.
