Orland Park Resident Wins New Jeep
In Darvin^® Grand Opening Drawing

Orland Park, IL, May, 3 2018 – Cheryl Andrews says she was comfortably relaxing at her home and having what she considered a very quiet evening on Monday, March 26, when Darvin Furniture & Mattress Manager Bob McGivney called her on the phone to let her know she had won the Darvin grand opening grand prize, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara 4x4. Needless to say, Andrews’ evening became a lot more memorable as she hung up the phone and happily drove over to the Darvin showroom, to see her prize.

According to Andrews, an Orland Park resident of more than 28 years who had been in the store weeks before to shop for a bedroom set, she had made two stops to shop at Darvin and it was her second visit when she took a few moments to fill out the entry for the grand opening prizes, which included the Jeep and a $500 gas card that went to a lucky resident of Crown Point, IN.

“At first, when I got the call from Darvin, I thought maybe there was some issue with my credit card or maybe a special offer they were contacting me about,” says Andrews. “I had totally forgotten about the drawing, so it was not even on my mind when they called me to say I’d won.”

Gathered in the newly minted Darvin entryway, dozens of onlookers, hoping to hear their names called, waited anxiously as Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau reached deep into the glass bin containing thousands of entries submitted over the previous three weeks and announced Andrews’ name. A huge wave of applause echoed off the freshly painted walls of the new showroom space. Moments later, McGivney made the calls to the two winners.

“We have been so fortunate over the years and we love our customers. They are like family to us,” says McGivney. “It was such a great experience to be able to give so many of our customers a chance to win a prize and to personally call both of the winners to give them the great news. I was really surprised – and happy – they both picked up the phone when I called!”

Bettenhausen Jeep in Orland Park, Darvin’s partner for the grand prize drawing, was able to offer Andrews the opportunity to select her own color in a variety of similar jeep vehicles. “It has been a wonderful experience working with Darvin and Bettenhausen. I’ve never won anything like this before. I’m so excited and thrilled to drive it,” says Andrews, who recently took possession of a white version of the Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara. “I never considered a Jeep before, I honestly didn’t really notice them on the road, but since I won, I see them everywhere. It is amazing!”
