Winners Celebrate Darvin^® Furniture Prize Drawing,
First Responders Honored

Orland Park, IL, Jan. 3, 2020 – Dennis Pratl was shopping for pieces to finish his family room at Darvin Furniture when he filled out an entry form for the 99th Anniversary Furniture Giveaway. Little did he know a few days later he’d be getting a call that he had won a J. Henry entertainment center worth $4,363 that looks to be a perfect fit for his Frankfort home.

The Darvin Furniture 99th Anniversary Giveaway drawing, which was held December 2 at the showroom, 15400 La Grange Road, Orland Park, IL, provided 70 winners like Pratl with new furniture prizes worth up to $180,000. The furniture prizes that were part of the giveaway included entertainment sets, dining sets, bedroom sets, sofas, china cabinets, mattresses and more.

Pratl, who says he’s been shopping at Darvin for decades, had his name chosen by Orland Park Police Officer Kerry Kelly-Valan, who pulled each of the winning names as Darvin paid special recognition to First Responders the entire day.

Kathy Marthaler of Mokena says she never wins anything, but that all changed when she was notified she had won a Sofa and Loveseat by American with a retail value of $2,733. “I have never won anything like this before,” says the loyal Darvin customer. “The sofa and loveseat look great in my home!”

When it comes to future furniture needs, Marthaler says, “the fact that we’ve been customers for twenty-five years pretty much says it all.”

Officer Kelly-Valan says it was a honor to be part of the celebration and nice to see First Responders get recognized.

“This is one of my favorite days of the year,” says Bob McGivney, Darvin Furniture & Mattress store manager. “Every year I look forward to giving away this furniture to our loyal customers across the region. Our winners this year were residents in three different states. That speaks volumes for how far our customers will travel for great value.”
